ABOUT US

The Green Energy Collaborative (GEC) is a program administered by Citizen Power aimed at promoting renewable energy resource development by encouraging individuals in western Pennsylvania to purchase competitively priced 100% certified renewable electricity. Citizen Power is a non-profit 501(c)3 consumer and environmental advocacy organization based in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. TriEagle Energy is a Texas-based electricity supplier that is licensed by the Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission. Citizen Power has teamed up with TriEagle Energy to provide individuals with 100% certified renewable energy at the lowest possible price. Citizen Power will also offer GEC members other ways to save money on their electric bills.

Citizen Power is absorbing the start-up cost and the cost of marketing and incentives as part of its mission of promoting the use of renewable energy.

The GEC is dedicated to utilizing the power of collective purchasing to help people make the transition to 100% clean, renewable energy sources. By joining together, we can both protect the environment and protect ourselves as consumers. By creating a successful model, we hope that others can learn from our experiences and form environmentally-oriented electricity consumer cooperatives or non-profit entities in their own regions. By creating more demand for renewable energy, we will help bring down costs through economies of scale.
